Teachers flee nation’s largest union in a crisis of its own making

For the sixth consecutive year, the National Education Association (NEA) is experiencing a significant decline in its membership. Contrary to NEA president Becky Pringle’s attributions to diminishing student numbers or funding cuts, it appears that the organization’s overt commitment to an extreme political stance over representing its members is the fundamental issue. This has led to the departure of over 12,000 members in 2023 alone, according to the latest financial disclosures of the union.
